Meet Our C.E.O
Afoke Sarah Osubor a B.Sc Graduate of Microbiology University of Benin, Benin City Nigeria started baking from home with her mum who was a renowned cake maker. She officially launched her own cake and events company, The Wedding World in 2007 headquartered in Warri and also Founded Sweetmix Fruits and Cakes in 2018 headquartered in Lagos . Afoke has distinguished herself in her craft as her ever growing clientele base is a proof to this fact.
She graduated from several Cake decorating schools including; The Wilton School of Cake Decorating-Chicago, PME Knightsbridge International School of Cake Decorating and Sugar craft U.K, Squires Kitchen International School of Cake Decorating UK, Rekivita Emulsifying Systems for Bakery Production and Technological aspects of Bakery in Singapore.
She attended private training organised by seasoned Cake makers and Sugar Crafter around the world, notably Tombi Peck, David MacCarfrae, Alan Dunn, Sharon Wee, Debby Brown, Eddie Spence, Nicholas Lodge, Ron Ben-Israel, Colette Peters, Karen Goble, Paddi Clark, Tony Warren, Daniel Dieguez and a host of others too numerous to mention.
She is Certified PME Knightsbridge International School of Cake Decorating and Sugar craft and The Wilton School of Cake Decorating Instructor for more than 10 years. She has been impacting the lives of many students with her in depth knowledge on Cake making & Decoration, Sugar flower and Sugar paste Modelling.
She was the liaison officer for ICES Delta State, Nigeria for 8years and have attend several annual International Cake Exploration Societe (ICES) conferences both Local and International.
As part of the exhibition participant at the NEC Birmingham International Cake exhibition, she was given a merit award for excellence in the year 2013.
Driven by diversity, she dabbled into the world of Fruits and Vegetable Art a decade ago, to meet the needs of a myriad of people in the society drawn to eating healthy foods.
She trained with Chief Patrick O'Brien of the fruit carving ninja. She attended Siam Carving Academy in Thailand where she mastered the art of Fruit and Vegetable carving also took private classes from Chefs in USA, UK & Dubai, notably Chef Ray Duey a seasoned trainer in the art of Fruit & Vegetable Craft in the United States of America.
She has trained over hundreds of students in the art of Fruit and Vegetables carving and on how to become successful in the Craft.
She has attended several interview on the subject of Fruits and Vegetables carving decorations on TVC Africa and on the program “Good Morning Africa”.
She is happily married and blessed with three lovely children.
